Yvette Rock

Yvette Rock graduated from Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1997 and from University of Michigan with and Master of Fine Arts in 1999. She is the founder of U of M’s Detroit Connections program, founder of the after school program Bezalel Project, and founder and Director of Live Coal Gallery/The RED children’s art museum. She has served as artist-in-residence in Detroit schools for twenty years. She is currently working on three bodies of mixed media and interdisciplinary work where she focuses on the past, present, and future of Detroit.
